The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is gearing up for a spectacular launch, with its 18th season commencing on March 22 at Eden Gardens. The opening ceremony promises to be more than just a cricketing event, featuring a star-studded lineup from Bollywood and the music industry.
Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is expected to be present, lending his signature charisma to the night. Salman Khan will also take the stage, leveraging the platform to promote his upcoming film, Sikandar, set for release on March 30. Priyanka Chopra is rumored to make an appearance, bringing international appeal to the event.
Entertainment acts include performances by renowned playback singers Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan will deliver high-energy dance performances, while Disha Patani and Punjabi sensation Karan Aujla are also anticipated to perform. Reports suggest that American band OneRepublic has been approached to join the lineup.
Several other Bollywood stars, including Katrina Kaif, Janhvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sara Ali Khan, are expected to be part of the ceremony. The event will set the stage for the opening match between KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), kicking off the season.
